This policy describes the data LegacyCompass collects, what we do with it, and the controls you have. It is written in plain language on purpose — a formal legal version is available on request at privacy@legacycompass.com.
What we collect
Only what you share with us. That typically includes the names and relationships you enter into your plan, the documents you upload, the messages you write to be delivered later, and the choices you make about providers and services.
We also collect the minimum technical information needed to run the service: your email address, the device you sign in from, and basic usage analytics that contain no personal details.
What we never do
- We never sell your data to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else.
- We never share your plan with family members unless you explicitly invite them.
- We never use the contents of your conversations to train public AI models.
- We never email you marketing content without your consent.
Where your data lives
All data is stored on infrastructure hosted in the United States and encrypted at rest using AES-256. Backups follow the same encryption standard. See our security page for the full list of subprocessors we rely on.
Your rights and controls
- Export. Download a complete PDF of any plan you own from the case dashboard.
- Correction. Update any field in your plan at any time through the chat, checklist, or case view.
- Deletion. Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated plans by emailing privacy@legacycompass.com. We process deletion requests within 30 days.
- Access. Ask for a full copy of every piece of personal data we hold about you, also via privacy@legacycompass.com.
Family collaboration
When you share a plan with family members, they see only the plan you explicitly shared — not your account or any other plans you may own. New collaborators receive view-only access by default; the case owner may grant edit access at any time.
